TRINETRA Once Parvati, in a moment of romance, put her hands on the third eye of Shiva. The cosmos was plunged in to darkness. The Gods, the humans and the demons cried for mercy. The opening of the third eye restored the energy in the universe. In yet another story, Shiva destroyed Kama the God of love by opening his third eye. However, on the request of Rati, the Goddess of love, he restored the spirit of Kama or love so that the living creatures could love and survive. |
