Nav Durga

Ever since his childhood, Bharat would be mesmerised by the chanting of the hymns in the praise of Goddess Durga. Much later in his life when he started chanting the shlokas (hymns) during the nine days of navratri festival he understood the real meaning and power of it.

He has picked up nine of his favourite shlokas which he has reproduced using knife on canvas. These are abstract work but he has used certain elements and colours to depict his inner thoughts.

This was his first solo exhibition which was opened by Mr. S. H. Raza in Mumbai in February 2009. It was widely acclaimed by the art critics and the media. It was a completely sold out show.
